Stavros Athanassopoulos is a tenured Lab Lecturer at the University of Patras. He graduated from the Department of Computer Engineering and Informatics of the University of Patras. He also holds an M.Sc. in Computer Science and Technology and a Ph.D. in computer science with a Dissertation title “Efficient algorithms for energy distribution in wireless networks” from the same department. He has worked for more than 20 years in R&D projects with European, national, and international funding.

Research interests: Design and analysis of algorithms, computational complexity, approximation and online algorithms, algorithmic aspects of communication and networks, ICT in education, liquid democracy, electronic voting, artificial intelligence and morality, reinforcement learning.
